Fence/Barrier Narrative or Personal Essay

  • Directions for in-class group reading activity:
Read the personal narrative/essay with your group. Discuss and answer the following questions:
    1. What was the problem/issue/obstacle that the individual faced?
      2. What did they do as a result? What was the outcome?
        3. What storytelling techniques does the writer use that you felt were effective/added to the story?
          4. Do you feel like you wanted to know more? What could the writer have added to lengthen/deepen the story?

In your group, select one person to record your group's responses and submit (with all your names!) to the google classroom by the end of the day. We will discuss the answers in class.
